What this drill is and who uses it

The M.A. Ford Twister XD 5X is a solid carbide drill with a 12.90 mm diameter. It is built for precision drilling in demanding materials. Machinists and maintenance teams select it for high-performance holemaking where tool life and accuracy matter.

What to verify on your machine before ordering

Confirm that your spindle accepts the drill shank and can deliver the rigidity carbide requires. Check that coolant delivery reaches the cutting zone for this diameter. Ensure the workholding can resist the thrust forces generated by a 5X solid carbide tool.

Questions about this item

Does the Twister XD 5X 12.90 mm drill come with any accessories or is it sold as the bit only?

The supplier description lists only the solid carbide drill itself; no extra accessories are mentioned.

How do I decide between the 12.90 mm size and other available diameters in the Twister XD 5X range?

Choose the 12.90 mm version when the hole you need to drill is exactly that diameter; other sizes serve different hole requirements.

What does the 5X designation mean for drilling depth in a real machine?

It indicates the drill can reach a depth of roughly five times its 12.90 mm diameter in a single pass.
