3.20 mm Solid Carbide Drill

The M.A. Ford Twister XD 5X drill is a solid carbide cutting tool with a 3.20 mm diameter. It is intended for machinists and maintenance teams who need a rigid, wear-resistant bit for producing accurate holes in tough alloys and hardened steels.

Five-times-diameter flute length

The extended flute reaches five times the nominal diameter, allowing deeper holes in a single pass without frequent pecking. This reduces cycle time and frees up spindle capacity for other operations on the same setup.

No bundled accessories or software

The product ships as the drill bit only; there are no coatings, holders, coolant adapters or digital licences included. Buyers who need a complete tooling package with inserts, collets or CAM subscriptions must source those items separately.

Questions about this item

At what depth does chip evacuation become the limiting factor when drilling with the 3.20 mm Twister XD 5X?

Chip evacuation becomes the limiting factor at roughly five times the diameter, which is the designed 5X depth for this drill.

How much heat and noise does the 3.20 mm solid carbide drill generate during continuous operation?

The solid carbide construction runs cooler than HSS and produces only the noise of the machine spindle; no internal cooling or vibration dampening is specified.

What toolholder or shank interface does the 2XDSR1260A require to be mounted in a machine?

The drill uses a standard cylindrical shank that fits common ER collets, Weldon flats or hydraulic holders matching the shank diameter.
