Mack's 2850 Snore Blockers Soft Foam Earplugs 50 Pair 32 dB NRR 37 dB SNR

What you get

The pack contains 50 pairs of polyurethane foam earplugs, model 2850, supplied as 100 individual pieces in a single package weighing 0.082 kilograms. Each plug uses a slow-release, low-pressure foam with a hollow end designed to reduce pressure for side sleepers. The bright yellow-green colour makes them easy to find in a dark bedroom or travel bag. They are disposable and require no batteries.

How the ratings help

A Noise Reduction Rating of 32 decibels and a Single Number Rating of 37 decibels indicate strong attenuation across typical environmental noise. These figures mean the plugs are suited for blocking snoring, general household sound and travel noise so light sleepers can rest. The hollow-end shape works with the foam expansion to maintain a consistent seal through the night without the hard edges that can cause discomfort.

Limits of foam attenuation

Foam earplugs rely on a complete seal inside the ear canal; any gap caused by incorrect insertion or unique ear geometry will lower the effective protection below the rated 32 dB NRR and 37 dB SNR. They do not actively cancel low-frequency rumble the way electronic noise-cancelling devices can, so very deep bass may still be audible. As disposable items they must be replaced once the foam loses resilience or becomes soiled.
