What it is and who it's for

The Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E. 2 is a membrane gaming keyboard built around a toughened aluminium faceplate and double-shot injection moulded keycaps. It includes an integrated palm rest and Chameleon RGB backlighting with nine built-in effects. The design targets gamers who want a durable, spill-resistant keyboard without installing extra software.

The deciding specification

This keyboard uses membrane switches rather than mechanical ones, so the feel and actuation force are fixed by the membrane layer. Buyers who need the distinct tactile click or per-switch customisation of a mechanical board should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power

Membrane operation keeps keystroke noise low compared with clicky mechanical alternatives. The aluminium faceplate adds structural rigidity without active cooling needs. Power is drawn solely from the USB connection, so no external adapter is required.

Questions about this item

How does the double-shot injection molding affect keycap wear during long gaming sessions?

The double-shot process fuses two plastic layers so legends never fade and the keycap surface resists shine from repeated use.

What does the Chameleon RGB lighting offer without installing extra software?

Nine built-in lighting variants with adjustable speed and brightness are controlled directly on the keyboard.

How much clearance does the toughened aluminum faceplate add above a typical desk surface?

The low-profile membrane switches and integrated palm rest keep the typing height close to the desk for a compact footprint.
