V.7 Gaming Keyboard with USB Interface

The Mad Catz V.7 is a wired gaming keyboard that connects through a standard USB port. It is aimed at players who want a dedicated input device with a built-in palm rest for extended sessions. The black chassis and multi-colour backlighting suit a desktop gaming setup.

Practical Limits of USB 2.0 Connection

The keyboard requires a USB 2.0 port and draws power directly from it. No additional drivers are needed for basic operation on supported systems. The wired link means there is no battery to charge, but the cable length restricts how far the board can sit from the host machine.

Installation Steps and Common Issues

Plug the connector into a free USB port and the keyboard is recognised automatically by Windows 7, Vista or XP. The touch-sensitive control panel lets you adjust lighting zones and media controls without software. A frequent issue is that older operating systems may not expose the full backlight customisation without the manufacturer utility.

Questions about this item

Is the V.7 available in any colour other than black?

The V.7 is offered only in black according to the product specifications.

How does the multi-colour backlighting work during actual gameplay?

The Tru-Vu illumination lets you set independent colours and brightness for WASD, cursor, Cyborg and NumPad zones so key groups stay visible in low light.

What does the USB 2.0 requirement mean for daily use?

The keyboard connects through a standard USB 2.0 port and draws power from it, so no extra adapter or driver installation is needed on supported Windows versions.
