Magnetic Retrieval Tool 708

The Mag-Mate 708 is a rigid mechanical retrieval tool built for technicians who need to grab ferrous objects in tight spaces. Its fixed steel shaft and two spring-steel jaws deliver a positive grip on items up to one inch in diameter.

Spring Plunger Handle and Fixed Shaft

A spring-loaded plunger handle lets the operator open and close the jaws with one hand while the rigid shaft holds its shape during insertion. The 3/16 inch head diameter allows entry into narrow bores or cavities where flexible snakes would buckle.

Upgrades from Flexible Pickup Tools

This tool replaces flexible magnetic wands that cannot push through debris or maintain alignment in horizontal runs. The jump is worth it when the target sits behind an obstruction or when a rigid reach of eight inches is required to engage the part.

Questions about this item

How strong is the 12 lb magnetic pull when retrieving metal parts?

The tool provides up to 12 lb of magnetic pull to lift ferrous objects through the 3/16 in head.

What clearance does the 3/16 in head diameter need to reach a dropped item?

The head measures 3/16 in across, so it fits through openings slightly larger than that diameter.

How do you open the 2-jaw mechanism with the spring plunger handle?

Press the spring plunger to spread the jaws, position over the part, then release to grip.
