Smart charger and AA NiMH set

The Powerex C980 is a microprocessor-controlled charger that handles one to eight AA or AAA cells in independent slots. It ships with eight 2700 mAh NiMH batteries and a storage case. The ninth-generation MH-NM7108 processor manages selectable charge currents and conditioning cycles. Worldwide 100-240 V input allows use on any mains supply.

Households and photographers needing ready cells

Suits users who want a single device to charge mixed quantities of AA and AAA NiMH or NiCd batteries quickly. The independent slots let you insert any combination without waiting for a full set. Buyers who only charge lithium-ion packs or need USB-C PD output should look elsewhere, as this unit is dedicated to nickel-based chemistries.

One-hour turbo charge for eight cells

Turbo mode delivers 2.0 A per AA slot and 1.0 A per AAA slot, replenishing all eight included batteries in about 60 minutes. Default mode halves those currents for a gentler 120-minute cycle. The conditioning function automatically discharges and recharges to maintain capacity over long storage periods.
