Eight-slot smart charger with sixteen AAA NiMH cells

The Powerex MH-C800S charges up to eight AAA batteries simultaneously at a 1000 mA rate. It ships with sixteen AccuLoop-X NiMH cells rated at 1100 mAh and 1.2 V. The unit accepts a universal 100-240 V input at 50/60 Hz and delivers 18 V at 1.0 A. This kit suits households or offices that cycle many low-drain devices such as remotes, clocks or wireless peripherals.

Charge current fixed at one amp per slot

Each slot supplies a constant 1000 mA regardless of cell condition, so deeply discharged or aged batteries may heat up during the cycle. The charger lacks a lower maintenance or refresh current, limiting its usefulness for capacity recovery on older packs. Input voltage auto-ranges worldwide, but the output profile cannot be adjusted for different chemistries or cell sizes beyond AAA.

Drop-in cells start charging immediately

Polarity contacts are clearly marked, reducing the chance of reverse insertion. The fixed high current means warm cells are normal; excessive heat suggests a faulty battery rather than a charger defect. No firmware updates or calibration steps exist, so troubleshooting is limited to trying known-good cells in each slot.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1100 mAh AAA batteries or a different capacity?

The bundle includes sixteen AAA cells rated at 1100 mAh; no other capacity is offered in this pack.

What does the 1000 mA charge rate mean for actual charging time?

Each slot delivers up to 1000 mA, so a fully depleted 1100 mAh cell takes roughly one hour plus termination overhead.

Does the 100-240 V input limit where I can use the charger?

The charger accepts 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, so it works on mains worldwide with only a plug adapter.
