Manfrotto 494 Aluminum Center Ball Head with 200PL-PRO Plate, 3.9" Height, 17.6 lbs Capacity

Ideal for precise camera positioning

The Manfrotto 494 Aluminum Center Ball Head supports a payload of up to 17.6 lbs, accommodating mirrorless cameras with zoom lenses through to medium-format DSLRs. Its durable, lightweight aluminum construction ensures portability without sacrificing stability. Three independent controls manage the sphere lock, friction tension and panoramic rotation for swift, accurate adjustments.

Check your tripod mounting and plate system

Verify that your tripod or support accepts the head's mounting interface before ordering. The included 200PL-PRO quick-release plate is compatible with Manfrotto RC2 and Arca-Swiss style standards, so confirm your camera body or lens foot matches one of these profiles. Ensure the total weight of your kit remains within the 17.6 lbs capacity for safe operation.

Consistent control during extended shooting

Friction control maintains balanced tension regardless of equipment weight, preventing sudden shifts during long sessions. The independent panoramic knob keeps the horizon level throughout panning movements, ideal for landscape sequences. Aluminum construction resists thermal expansion, preserving lock precision when ambient temperatures change over hours of use.
