What this speaker is and who it suits

The MANTO Cuckoo is a compact portable speaker rated at 4 watts with an IPX5 waterproof build. It streams audio wirelessly over Bluetooth up to 15 metres or plays MP3 files from a microSD card up to 32 GB. The 1000 mAh battery delivers up to 12 hours of playback and the unit weighs 146 grams with a carabiner for clipping to bags or belts.

What to check before ordering

Your source device must support Bluetooth audio streaming for wireless use. If you prefer card playback, you will need a microSD card formatted to FAT32 and loaded with MP3 files, as the slot accepts cards up to 32 GB only. The speaker has no wired input, so a 3.5 mm cable cannot be connected. Ensure you are comfortable with touch controls for volume, tracks and mode switching.

How it performs during long sessions

The 40 millimetre driver produces a balanced response down to 150 hertz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 decibels. Battery life reaches 12 hours at typical listening levels and the speaker automatically powers off after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve charge. IPX5 protection resists splashes and dust during extended outdoor use, though the unit must not be submerged.

Questions about this item

Does the box include a microSD card for the 32 GB slot?

The package contains the speaker, a USB charging cable, a carabiner and a user manual; the microSD card up to 32 GB is not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose the 12-hour Bluetooth mode or the microSD mode for longer playtime?

Both Bluetooth streaming and microSD playback draw from the same 1000 mAh battery, so the 12-hour figure applies to either mode; pick the source that suits your files.

What does the 4 W rating mean for volume in a shower or campsite?

The 4 W active amplifier driving a 40 mm driver produces clear sound for personal listening in a shower or at a campsite, but it is not designed to fill large open spaces.
