Marengo MWH68 Dynamic Handheld Microphone

The Marengo MWH68 is a wired dynamic handheld microphone built for karaoke singing and live vocal performance. Its unidirectional cardioid pattern focuses on the source directly in front of the capsule while rejecting off-axis noise. A 13 ft detachable XLR cable and an included 1/4 in adapter allow direct connection to amplifiers, mixers or karaoke machines. No batteries are required for operation.

Practical Limits of XLR and 1/4 Inch Connectivity

The supplied cable terminates in XLR with a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) plug via the included adapter, so the microphone works with equipment that provides a 1/4 in or 1/8 in microphone input. Phantom power is not needed and must not be applied to this dynamic capsule. The 13 ft cable length defines the maximum working distance from the input jack without an extension. An on/off switch on the body mutes the signal without unplugging the cable.

Upgrade From Built-In or Wireless Mics

This microphone replaces built-in recorder mics or consumer wireless systems that suffer from interference, dropout or limited battery life. The cardioid pattern and rugged metal construction give cleaner vocal reproduction and better feedback rejection in loud environments. Buyers who need a second simultaneous microphone for duets or interviews will need an additional unit and a mixer with multiple inputs.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 13 ft cable version or a shorter length?

The MWH68 ships with a fixed 13 ft detachable XLR cable, giving you a wide moving range on stage or at a karaoke machine without needing an extension.

How does the unidirectional pattern work in a real room?

The cardioid pickup focuses on sound directly in front of the grille while rejecting noise from the sides and rear, so vocals stay clear even with nearby speakers or instruments.

What does the XLR to 1/4 in connection cap in practice?

The included XLR to 6.35 mm cable lets you plug straight into amplifiers, mixers or karaoke machines with a 1/4 in mic input, and a 1/4 in to 1/8 in adapter is also supplied for smaller jacks.
