Handheld Cardioid Microphone MWH78

The Marengo MWH78 is a wired dynamic microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern designed for vocal capture. It targets speakers, karaoke users and live performers who need a straightforward plug-and-play solution. The 13 ft cable allows free movement on stage or in a venue. No battery is required for operation.

Upgrade from Wireless or Built-In Mics

This model replaces wireless handheld systems that need batteries or charging, removing the risk of drop-outs during a set. It also supersedes built-in mixer or speaker microphones that lack an on/off switch and dedicated pop filtering. The jump is worth it when reliability and cable reach matter more than wireless convenience.

Sustained Use Behaviour

The rugged housing and integrated pop filter maintain consistent output during long sessions without handling noise buildup. The external on/off switch lets the user mute instantly between speeches or songs without unplugging. The 1/4 inch jack and included 3.5 mm adapter keep the connection secure across compatible PA systems, amplifiers and karaoke machines.

Questions about this item

What connector does the Marengo MWH78 use to plug into a mixer or PA speaker?

It terminates in a 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) TS jack and includes a 1/4" to 1/8" TS adapter for devices with a smaller mic input.

How do you power the microphone on and off without unplugging the 13 ft cable?

Slide the external switch upward for ON and downward for OFF; the mic draws no battery power so it works immediately when switched on.

When should the foam windscreen supplied with the MWH78 be replaced?

Replace the foam cover when it becomes torn, permanently compressed or noticeably dirty so the built-in pop filter keeps plosives under control.
