12-Inch London Trowel

The Marshalltown 33 12FG is a carbon-steel London-pattern trowel built for masonry work. Its 12-inch blade and straight DuraSoft handle suit bricklayers and stonemasons laying mortar on site.

Blade Length 12 Inches

The 12-inch blade length is the primary measure that matches the tool to the joint width and mortar volume you work with. A shorter blade carries less mortar; a longer blade adds weight and reduces control in tight courses.

Straight DuraSoft Handle

The straight DuraSoft handle fits the hand without a forward curve, so the wrist stays neutral during repeated lifts. Carbon steel holds an edge but will rust if left wet; wipe and oil the blade after each day to prevent corrosion.

Questions about this item

What does the 12 in blade length mean when I am laying brick?

A 12 in blade lets you spread mortar over a longer run before reloading, covering more wall area per stroke on standard brick courses.

How does the carbon steel blade affect edge holding and maintenance?

High carbon steel takes a keen edge for clean mortar cuts but will rust if left wet, so wipe and oil the blade after each day's work.

What clearance do I need for the 6 in DuraSoft handle on my tool belt?

The straight 6 in DuraSoft grip needs roughly a hand-width slot on a belt loop or holster and sits flat against the thigh when hung.
