Marumi 100x150mm Reverse Graduated ND16 (1.2) Square Filter
100×150 mm square filter with reverse graduated ND16 (1.2) density that darkens the centre for sunrise and sunset scenes
- 4-stop light reduction for balanced sunrise exposures
- ND16 density darkens bright horizons by 1.2 optical density
- Reverse graduated design places maximum density at centre for horizon control
- Schott B270 glass substrate delivers high-definition optical clarity
- Multi-coating resists reflections, scratches, static, water and oil
Sunrise-sunset control
The reverse graduated ND16 reduces light by four stops with the darkest band centred in the middle of the frame, fading toward the top edge. This density profile matches the bright horizon line typical of sunrise and sunset compositions. The 100x150mm square format fits standard filter holders used by landscape photographers. It is not suited for scenes where the brightest area sits at the very top of the frame.
Schott B270 glass with multi-coating
High-definition Schott B270 glass forms the substrate, and both surfaces receive a double-side coating. The coating cuts reflection, resists scratches, repels water and oil, and reduces static build-up that attracts dust. Together these layers keep the optical path clean during repeated field use and simplify wiping between shots. No additional accessories or software are included in the package.
Square drop-in design
The filter measures 100mm wide by 150mm long and slides into a compatible holder without threads or rotating mounts. This square profile allows vertical shift to align the graduated transition precisely with the horizon. The rigid glass construction resists flexing when inserted or removed, and the coated surfaces withstand normal cleaning pressure. It requires a separate holder system and is not a screw-on circular filter.

Questions about this item
How do I keep the Schott B270 glass coating clean over time?
The double-side coating is anti-static, water-repellent and oil-repellent, so dust and smudges wipe off easily with a soft cloth.
What limits exposure control when shooting long sunrise sequences with the 4-stop density?
The fixed ND16 (1.2) density provides four stops of light reduction; you cannot vary it once the filter is in place.
Does the 100x150mm glass retain heat during all-day time-lapse work?
The filter is passive glass with no electronics, so it generates no heat and adds no thermal load to the lens.
