Afrique Monkey Lovey

This 12-inch security blanket combines a soft plush monkey with an unstuffed body that is easy for small hands to grip. It belongs to the Afrique Boutique collection and features a cinnamon brown monkey with embroidered eyes. The lovey serves as both a comforting companion and a sensory activity blanket for babies.

Simple care routine

The toy is machine washable on a cold gentle cycle and should be air dried to preserve the fabrics and crinkle paper. No assembly or batteries are required, so it is ready to use straight from the packaging. The unstuffed body reduces bulk, making it less likely to snag on crib rails or stroller straps.

Sensory features and limits

Crinkle paper, textured fabrics and knotted corners provide tactile and auditory stimulation that keeps infants engaged during play or travel. The compact 12-inch size fits easily into a nappy bag but offers less coverage than a full-sized blanket. It is not suited for older children who want a larger comfort object.

Questions about this item

How can I tell the lovey is safe and working as intended after the first wash?

After washing in cold water on a gentle cycle and air drying, the monkey should retain its cinnamon brown colour, the embroidered eyes must stay firmly attached, and the crinkle paper inside should still make a sound when squeezed.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy anything else for it to work?

The package contains the 13 x 9 inch Afrique Monkey lovey with its attached blanket, crinkle paper, textured fabrics and knotted corners; no batteries or extra accessories are required.

Which version of the Afrique collection should I choose for a newborn?

The 12-inch monkey lovey is designed for babies with its unstuffed body, embroidered eyes and sensory features; other characters in the range include alligator, lion, elephant, giraffe and zebra.
