Taggies Original 12-Inch Sensory Blanket

The Mary Meyer Taggies Original blanket is a 12 by 12-inch square of soft jersey fabric printed with white bunnies and polka dots on a grey background. The reverse side uses a solid fluffy fleece. Looped satin ribbons are sewn around the edges for tactile exploration. It is machine washable on a cold gentle cycle and should be air dried.

Upgrade from Basic Receiving Blankets

Standard receiving blankets offer only a flat layer of fabric without built-in sensory elements. The Taggies design adds sewn-in looped tags that encourage grasping, rubbing and peekaboo play. The jump is worth it when a caregiver wants a single item that combines comfort, visual interest and fine-motor stimulation for a newborn.

Consistent Texture After Repeated Washing

The jersey top and fleece reverse maintain their softness through regular cold-water machine washing and air drying. The satin loops stay securely stitched and do not fray under normal laundering. This construction supports daily use from infancy through toddlerhood without the fabric pilling or the tags detaching.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry; avoid tumble heat which can melt or fray the ribbon loops.
