Three-phase power clamp meter
The MASTECH MS2205 is a true-RMS digital clamp meter designed for three-phase electrical analysis. It measures AC voltage to 600V, AC current to 1000A, active, apparent and reactive power, power factor and harmonics up to the 20th order. An RS232 interface and 100-group data logging support documentation and later review. The 50mm jaw opening fits large conductors in industrial panels.
Upgrade from single-phase or basic clamp tools
Moving from a single-phase meter or a clamp without harmonic capability adds full three-phase power, power-factor and harmonic measurement in one instrument. The jump is worth it when you need to verify power quality, balance loads or troubleshoot distortion on 45Hz to 65Hz systems. The 6000-count display and auto-ranging reduce manual range changes during surveys.
Check jaw size, power supply and software needs
Confirm the 50mm jaw opening suits the largest cables you will clamp. The meter requires four 1.5V AA batteries which are not included. RS232 connectivity needs a compatible serial port or adapter on your PC and the supplied CD software for data transfer. The CAT III 600V rating covers typical industrial panels; verify it matches your installation category.

Questions about this item
What is the jaw opening of the MS2205 clamp meter?
The jaw opening is R50mm, or 2.0 inches, allowing it to clamp around conductors up to that diameter.
How do I connect the MS2205 to a computer for data transfer?
Use the supplied RS232 interface cable and the CD software; the meter logs 100 groups of readings for recall and transfer.
What power source does the MS2205 require and when should it be replaced?
It runs on four 1.5V AA batteries; replace them when the low-battery indication appears on the 6000-count display.
