Wood and concrete moisture meter

The MS6900 is a digital tester for measuring moisture in timber and masonry. It suits surveyors, flooring fitters and DIY renovators who need rapid on-site readings. The pin-type probe gives percentage values across a range of wood species and cementitious materials. It also logs ambient temperature and relative humidity alongside material moisture.

Measurement range and material groups

Moisture is displayed from 0.0% to 60.0% for wood and up to 24.5% for smoothing cement and concrete. Seven preset material groups cover beech, spruce, larch, birch, cherry, walnut, oak, cedar, maple, ash, citigroup, tamarisk, anhydrite screed, cement mortar, lime mortar, plaster and brick. Temperature reads from -10.0°C to 50.0°C with 0.1°C resolution. Humidity sampling updates every 1.5 seconds.

Handheld operation and power

The unit measures 130 by 55 by 29 millimetres and weighs 140 grams, fitting easily in a tool bag. It runs on two AAA batteries which are not supplied. An LCD with backlight shows the moisture bar graph, data-hold and min/max recall. Auto power-off activates after ten minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
