Steel laminated padlock for lockout-tagout
The Master Lock 25KALF is a steel-bodied padlock with a 3/8 in diameter steel shackle and a five-pin cylinder keyed alike. It is intended for lockout-tagout programmes and general security where multiple locks must share one key.
Practical limits of the keyed-alike system
All locks in the set open with the same key, so a single lost key compromises every lock in the group. The laminated steel body and 2 in body diameter resist cutting but the shackle clearance of 1 1/2 in height by 15/16 in width limits the hasp or chain links it can pass through.
Installation and common issues
No tools are needed; the shackle snaps into the hasp and the key turns to lock. The non-removable key can be left in the lock while open, which prevents accidental lock-out but means the key stays exposed. The lock is not weather resistant, so outdoor use will cause corrosion on the steel body and shackle over time.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the keyed-alike version or a different keying option for multiple locks?
The keyed-alike version uses the same K27 keyway across every padlock, so one key opens all of them. Choose it when you want a single key for several locks; pick a different keying option if each lock needs its own unique key.
How does the 3/8-inch hardened steel shackle perform when the lock is installed on a hasp or chain?
The 3/8-inch diameter steel shackle provides a 1 1/2-inch vertical clearance and 15/16-inch horizontal opening, fitting standard hasps and chains while the laminated steel body resists cutting and prying.
What does the 5-pin K27 keyway mean for key control and duplication?
The 5-pin Master K27 keyway is a restricted profile; keys can only be cut by authorised locksmiths, preventing unauthorised duplication and supporting formal key-control procedures.
