A magnet-mount GPS antenna with a 1575.42 MHz centre frequency, 2 dBi peak gain and a 3 m RG174 cable ending in a GT5 connector
This Maswell Communication Tech. GPS active antenna uses a magnet mount and a GT5 connector for vehicular navigation systems. It operates at a centre frequency of 1575.42±1 MHz with a peak gain of 2 dBi and right-hand circular polarisation. The integrated low-noise amplifier provides 28±2 dB gain with a noise figure of 1.5 dB and draws 5–15 mA from a 2.2–5 V DC supply.
The unit replaces a broken or lost original GPS antenna on cars and trucks that accept a GT5 interface. Its 3-metre RG174 cable allows flexible routing to the head unit while the IP66-rated ABS radome withstands continuous exposure to weather and vibration. The built-in filter delivers 12 dB attenuation at CF+50 MHz and 16 dB at CF-50 MHz for improved out-of-band rejection.
The magnetic base secures the 25×25×4 mm housing to metal surfaces under the dash or on the roof without drilling. Power is supplied through the connected navigation device via the GT5 plug, so no separate wiring harness is required. Operating temperature spans -40 °C to +85 °C at up to 95 % relative humidity, and the assembly meets RoHS environmental standards.

The magnet mounts on any clean ferrous panel large enough to cover the 25 by 25 mm footprint; wipe the surface first so the IP66 seal stays intact.
Run the cable clear of moving trim, avoid sharp bends, and push the GT5 plug straight in until it clicks — angling the plug bends the centre pin.
Replace the unit if the radome cracks, water enters despite the IP66 rating, or the LNA current draw falls outside the 5 to 15 mA range at 2.2 to 5 V DC.
