Matrox P690 256MB DDR2 workstation card

The Matrox P690 is a PCIe x16 workstation graphics card with 256MB of DDR2 memory. It targets professionals who need stable multi-monitor output for 2D applications, financial trading floors or digital signage. The LFH-60 connector drives two displays from a single low-profile bracket.

Sustained 2D workload stability

With a modest 11.8W power draw, the card runs cool inside compact chassis during long sessions. Passive operation avoids fan noise and mechanical wear, so reliability stays consistent across extended trading days or signage loops. The DDR2 frame buffer handles desktop compositing without throttling.

LFH-60 dual-display practical limits

The LFH-60 interface splits into two digital outputs, each capped at 1920 x 1200 resolution. That ceiling suits legacy monitors and standard office panels but excludes modern high-DPI or ultra-wide screens. Builders needing more than two heads or higher pixel counts must add a second card.

Questions about this item

How much power does the P690 draw when it runs all day?

The card consumes 11.8W under load, so heat and fan noise remain minimal even during continuous operation.

Which cables or adapters do I need to connect monitors to the LFH-60 connector?

The LFH-60 output requires a Matrox LFH-60 to dual DVI or VGA breakout cable, which is not included with the card.

Will the PCIe x16 interface work in an older motherboard that only has PCIe 1.0 slots?

Yes, the PCIe x16 interface is backward compatible with PCIe 1.0 and 1.1 slots, though bandwidth will be limited to the slot's capability.
