Precision Shim Stock

This annealed 316 stainless-steel shim roll measures 6 inches wide by 100 inches long at a nominal thickness of 0.004 inch. It meets AMS 5906B and ASTM A-666-03 with a Rockwell hardness of C40-45 and tensile strength of 185,000 psi.

Alignment and Tooling Use

The soft temper suits precise alignment, die set-up and shimming tasks where the material must conform without spring-back. Buyers needing a harder temper, different alloy or adhesive-backed format should look elsewhere.

Workshop Integration

Supplied as a plain-finish roll, it can be cut to custom lengths with standard hand shears or snips. The tight thickness tolerance of ±0.0002 inch reduces the need for secondary lapping or measurement steps.
