Capacity and purpose

The MAXI-MATIC EKT8690 is a 1.7 litre electric kettle rated at 1500 watts for rapid boiling. It suits households and offices that need hot water for tea, coffee, oatmeal or baby formula throughout the day.

Power and placement

Verify that your countertop has a grounded 120 volt outlet within reach of the 360 degree swivel base. The unit draws 1500 watts so the circuit must support that load without tripping.

Thermals and noise

The concealed heating element brings water to a boil quickly while the exterior remains cooler to the touch. Automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection stop the cycle once the water is ready, limiting both energy draw and audible boiling time.

Questions about this item

Does the box include a filter for the spout and a base with cord wrap, or must those be purchased separately?

The package contains the 1.7-litre kettle, a large pouring spout with free-flow filter, a 360° swivel base with grounded plug and a convenient cord wrap, so nothing extra is required.

Should I choose the 1.7-litre version or a smaller capacity for quicker boils?

This model is offered only in the 1.7-litre capacity with a 1500-watt element, so there is no smaller option to select.

What does the 1500-watt rating mean for everyday boiling speed?

The 1500-watt concealed heating system brings a full 1.7 litres to a boil quickly, and the auto shut-off with boil-dry protection stops the cycle as soon as the water is ready.
