Carriage House 3-Light Outdoor Fixture

This Maxim Lighting carriage-house lantern measures 14 inches wide and holds three bulbs. It belongs to the Carriage House VX collection and is finished in Oriental Bronze. The housing is made from Vivex, a composite material rated at twice the strength of resin. The unit is designed for exterior installation.

Suited for traditional exterior lighting

Homeowners replacing a single porch or post lantern will find the three-light output and classic silhouette appropriate. The non-corrosive, UV-resistant Vivex body performs well in coastal or high-sun environments. Buyers who need a larger multi-light assembly or a different mounting style should look at other models.

Vivex composite construction

The decisive specification is the Vivex housing, which is non-corrosive, UV resistant and backed by a 5-Year Limited Warranty. This material choice determines whether the fixture will withstand the specific climate and exposure of the installation site. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to this product.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Carriage House 40421 fixture and what step is often missed?

Attach the supplied bracket to a grounded junction box, connect wires with weatherproof connectors, then seal the base to the wall — skipping the seal lets water reach the connections.

What part of the 14-inch Vivex lantern will need replacement first?

The three included bulbs wear out long before the non-corrosive, UV-resistant Vivex body or the Oriental Bronze finish.

What limits continuous overnight operation of the 40421?

Heat buildup inside the enclosed water-glass shade caps the safe run time well before the Vivex material or finish degrades.
