Product identity and intended use

The Maxim Mfg. 57662WTSN is a single-light flush mount measuring 7 inches wide in a satin nickel finish. It suits homeowners or contractors who want a low-profile ceiling fixture for hallways, closets or small rooms where recessed cans are impractical.

Installation notes and common issues

The fixture mounts directly to a standard junction box with basic hand tools and the included hardware. The die-cast aluminum housing is lightweight, so alignment is straightforward, but the recessed white polycarbonate diffuser must be seated evenly to avoid light leaks. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains listed chemicals; wear gloves during handling and wash hands afterward.

Deciding specification

The key detail is the optional pendant adapter that converts the flush mount into a hanging fixture, giving flexibility if ceiling height or design plans change. Buyers who need a fixed recessed appearance without any conversion option should look elsewhere.
