Satin Chrome Privacy Lever Lockset

The MAXTECH LKLE13012R-26 is a Grade 2 cylindrical lever lockset finished in Satin Chrome US26D. It is designed for privacy function on bedroom and bathroom doors in commercial and residential settings. The curved lever meets ADA requirements for barrier-free access. The lock fits standard 161 door preparation with a 2-3/4 inch backset.

Upgrade from basic tubular latches

This lockset replaces simple passage or privacy tubular latches that lack commercial durability or ADA-compliant lever design. The Grade 2 rating and separate spring mechanisms prevent lever sag over time. The jump is worth it when building codes require Grade 2 hardware or when barrier-free lever operation is specified for the project.

Sustained use in high-traffic restrooms

The corrosion-treated cold-rolled steel case and solid brass 1/2 inch throw latchbolt withstand repeated daily cycles. Separate spring cages for inside and outside levers maintain horizontal lever position without droop. The 50 degree lever travel and non-handed design ensure consistent operation on both right-hand and left-hand doors. The adjustable front accommodates flat or beveled door edges for reliable latching.

Questions about this item

What door thickness range does the 2-3/4" backset lockset fit?

The lockset fits wood or metal doors from 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick with the standard 161 preparation.

How are the inside and outside levers installed to prevent arm sag?

Separate spring mechanisms for each lever hold them horizontally; install both spring cages so the levers return within 3/8" of the door face.

When should the solid brass latchbolt be inspected or replaced?

Inspect the 1/2" throw latchbolt if the lever exceeds 50° travel or fails to retract smoothly; replace if the reversible bolt shows wear.
