All-Weather High-Security Padlock

The Medeco 54 System Series padlock is built for indoor and outdoor use where weather resistance matters. Its stainless-steel finish and baron alloy steel shackle resist cutting and pulling attacks. The cylinder uses machine brass components with hardened stainless steel inserts to defend against drilling and vandalism. A patented triple-locking action makes the mechanism virtually pick-proof.

UL 437 Listing and Keyway Constraints

The lock carries a UL 437 listing, confirming its high-security cylinder performance under standardized attack testing. It is supplied with the 00 Original High Security keyway and comes keyed different from the factory. Keys and cylinders are protected by patent, trademark and copyright, so duplication requires authorised channels. The shackle dimensions are fixed at 7/16" by 1-3/8", limiting the hasp or chain links it can pass through.

Upgrade From Basic Weather-Exposed Padlocks

This model replaces standard laminated or brass-body padlocks that lack a UL 437 rating and patented key control. The jump is worth it when the secured asset justifies a cylinder that resists picking, drilling and physical force, and when key duplication must be restricted. It is not suited for buyers who need a different shackle clearance, a master-keyed system or a non-patented keyway for local cutting.
