Medeco 54 System All Weather Padlock

The Medeco 54-72500-00 is a high-security padlock built for outdoor and indoor use. Its shrouded shackle design protects the shackle from bolt-cutter attacks while the UL 437 listing confirms resistance to picking and drilling. The lock uses a 00 Original high-security keyway with patented key control. It is supplied new with a standard black body cover and satin brass cylinder finish.

Ideal for gates, storage units

This padlock suits users who need a single, keyed-different lock with proven physical security credentials. The baron alloy steel shackle resists cutting and pulling, while hardened stainless steel inserts defend the cylinder against drilling. Buyers who require multiple locks operating on the same key or a master-keyed system should look at alternative keying options not offered by this specific model.

Shrouded 7/16" shackle with triple locking action

The 7/16 inch diameter shackle provides a 3/4 inch vertical clearance for standard hasps and chains. Triple locking action engages the sidebar, slider and pin tumbler simultaneously to resist manipulation. The all-weather construction withstands rain, dust and temperature extremes without seizing. Where a longer shackle reach or a different shackle diameter is needed, this model will not fit the application.

Questions about this item

What keyway must my existing Medeco system use for this 54-72500-00 padlock to fit?

This padlock uses the 00 Original High Security keyway, so your current Medeco system must be cut to the same 00 keyway for the key to operate it.

Will the 7/16" x 3/4" shrouded shackle clear the hasp on my older gate hardware?

The shackle measures 7/16" diameter by 3/4" vertical clearance inside the shroud; measure your hasp opening and internal depth to confirm the shroud and shackle can pass through and lock fully.

How can I verify the lock meets the UL 437 high-security rating after installation?

Check the lock body for the UL 437 listing mark and test that the key turns smoothly, the shackle releases cleanly, and the triple locking action engages with audible clicks at each stage.
