What this antenna does

The Mediasonic Homeworx HW218AMP receives free broadcast high-definition television signals. Its multi-directional range reaches a minimum of 35 miles. A 10-foot coaxial cable is included for connection. The super-thin design requires no external power source.

The range that matters

Reception reaches at least 35 miles from the broadcast towers. This single figure determines whether the antenna will work at your address. The multi-directional pattern means you do not need to rotate the unit for different channels.

Who should buy it and who should not

Cord-cutters wanting free local HD channels with a simple indoor setup will find this suitable. Renters or homeowners who cannot mount an outdoor antenna benefit from the thin, reversible black-and-white design. Buyers who need more than 35 miles of range or who require an amplified outdoor unit should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What does the 35-mile range mean for my actual reception?

The 35-mile figure is a minimum multi-directional range; real-world reception depends on local terrain, building materials and antenna placement.

How does the included 10-foot coaxial cable limit where I can put the antenna?

The fixed 10-foot cable sets the maximum distance from your TV or tuner; longer runs need a quality extension cable and possible signal amplifier.

Can the HW218AMP be mounted flat on a window or wall without a stand?

Yes, its super-thin, double-sided black and white design allows flat placement on windows or walls with adhesive strips or tape.
