What the covers are and who uses them

Medline CRI2003 shoe covers are disposable polypropylene overshoes supplied in a case of 100 pairs. They are sized X-Large to fit up to men's size 15 and are intended for home health care workers, visitors or patients who need a clean barrier over their footwear. The blue colour makes them easy to identify in clinical or domestic settings.

Practical limits of the material

The spunbond polypropylene fabric is breathable and fluid-repellent, so it resists light splashes while allowing air circulation. It is not a waterproof membrane and will not protect against heavy soaking or chemical exposure. The non-skid tread improves traction on smooth floors but is not rated for oily, icy or outdoor surfaces. Latex-free construction avoids allergic reactions for sensitive users.

Build quality and daily implications

Each cover is sewn from a single layer of lightweight polypropylene with an elastic opening that stretches over large shoes without tearing. The skid-resistant sole is bonded to the bottom and stays flexible in cool rooms. Because they are single-use, the covers are discarded after each visit, eliminating laundry and reducing cross-contamination risk. The case of 100 keeps a ready supply on hand for high-traffic areas.
