Biometric time clock for small business

The A5 records attendance using fingerprint scan, RFID badge or PIN entry. It operates without a Wi-Fi or network connection, so there are no monthly fees or software subscriptions. Data is transferred to a PC via the included USB stick for Excel report generation. The unit includes five RFID badges and supports 11 languages with voice prompts.

Offline operation limits

Because the clock stores data locally and exports only through the USB stick, real-time monitoring and remote access are not possible. Each pay period report must be downloaded manually, which adds a step for businesses with multiple locations or shift supervisors who need instant visibility. The device requires a US power outlet and is rated for indoor use only.

Replaces manual cards and legacy punches

Moving from paper cards or a mechanical punch clock eliminates ribbon jams and manual tallying while keeping the same wall-mount footprint. The jump is worthwhile when you want automated Excel exports without ongoing costs, but it does not suit teams that need cloud syncing, badge-only entry without biometrics, or battery-backed operation during power loss.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the fingerprint, RFID badge or PIN method for my staff?

The A5 supports all three — fingerprint scan, the five included RFID badges and a PIN code — so you can assign whichever method suits each employee.

What does the 11-language voice prompt actually do in daily use?

It guides employees through clock-in and clock-out in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and seven other languages, reducing training time.

How does the USB-stick data transfer limit the way I collect attendance records?

Reports are downloaded to the stick as Excel files for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly periods; no network or Wi-Fi connection is required.
