Keel Protector for Boats

Megaware KeelGuard is a do-it-yourself keel protector built to shield a boat’s gelcoat from sand, rocks and ramp contact. The abrasion-resistant polymer and urethane blend adds a durable, pliable layer that permanently bonds and seals to the hull surface. Pressure-sensitive adhesive locks the contoured edges in place without extra hardware. Angled grooves create hydrodynamic channels and air pockets for a slicker running surface.

11 Colour Options Available

The range offers eleven colours so owners can match or contrast virtually any hull finish. The white version shown here provides a clean, high-visibility look on lighter gelcoats. Each colour uses the same patented polymer blend and adhesive system, so protection level stays consistent across the palette. Buyers needing a shade not listed will have to look elsewhere.

DIY Installation on Hull Keel

The product applies directly to the keel area using the pre-applied pressure-sensitive adhesive, so no separate glue, fasteners or specialist tools are required. Contoured edges follow the hull shape and seal against water ingress once pressed firmly in place. The protector frees the underlying gelcoat from abrasion while the hydrodynamic grooves maintain running efficiency. Surface preparation and ambient temperature affect bond quality, so follow the maker’s prep steps closely.
