Mellanox Technologies ConnectX-5 VPI Adapter Card EDR network card

SKU CH-WTH4-5WMRN

A 100 Gbps plug-in network card for servers with a PCI Express 3.0 x16 host interface and QSFP28 optical fibre connectivity

  • Product weight0.45
  • PCI Express 3.0 x16 host interface delivers 100 Gb/s throughput
  • QSFP28 slot accepts optical fiber for 100GBase-X connectivity
  • Plug-in card form factor fits standard server expansion slots
  • Compact 2.7" by 5.6" dimensions suit dense rack deployments
  • RoHS-6 certification confirms environmentally responsible manufacturing

Single-port 100 GbE server adapter

The Mellanox ConnectX-5 VPI adapter card installs in a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and presents a single QSFP28 cage for optical fibre. It delivers 100GBase-X connectivity in a low-profile plug-in card measuring 2.7 inches by 5.6 inches and weighing 0.45 kg. RoHS-6 certification confirms restricted-substance compliance.

Suited for single-port 100 GbE clusters

This card fits servers that need one 100 GbE link over optical fibre and have an x16 PCIe 3.0 slot available. Builds requiring dual-port redundancy, copper DAC cables, or a different slot width should consider other options.

PCI Express 3.0 x16 host interface

The x16 lane count and Gen 3 speed set the maximum throughput ceiling for the adapter. Verify the server backplane can provide this exact slot configuration before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does my server have a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot for this adapter?

The card requires a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot on the motherboard to operate at full 100 Gbps bandwidth.

Will the QSFP28 cage accept my existing optical transceivers?

The QSFP28 cage supports standard optical transceivers for 100GBase-X connectivity over fiber.

How can I confirm the link is running at 100 Gbps after installation?

Check the driver-reported link speed in the OS network settings or switch port status; it should show 100 Gbps when active.
