3 metre passive copper InfiniBand EDR cable

This three metre passive copper cable carries InfiniBand EDR traffic at up to 100 Gb/s. It connects compatible switches, adapters and storage nodes without an external power supply. The fixed length suits rack-to-rack or intra-rack links where active optics are not required. New condition ensures clean signal integrity from first use.

Replaces shorter or active EDR cables

Use this cable when a three metre reach fits the topology and passive operation reduces cost and power draw. It does not serve longer runs that exceed passive copper limits, nor links that require active equalisation or optical transport. Buyers needing greater distance or different connector types should select an alternative assembly.

Questions about this item

What length is the MCP1600-E003E26 cable and will it reach between adjacent rack-mounted units?

The cable is 3 metres long, which is sufficient for connections between adjacent rack-mounted InfiniBand EDR switches or host adapters.

How do I install this passive copper cable and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Insert each QSFP connector firmly until the latch clicks; the common mistake is stopping at the first resistance instead of pushing until the latch fully engages.
