A 25 Gbps single-port SFP28 network adapter using PCIe 3.0 x8 for high-performance server connectivity
The Mellanox ConnectX-4 EN MCX4111A-ACAT is a single-port 25Gbps Ethernet network card built on a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface. It uses an SFP28 cage for optical or direct-attach copper transceivers and includes hardware offload engines for overlay network tunnelling. The card targets PCI Express Gen3 servers in cloud, enterprise and HPC environments.
This adapter suits administrators adding one 25GbE connection to a Gen3 server where a single SFP28 port meets the port-density requirement. Builders who need multiple ports per slot, higher link speeds or fibre-channel capability should select a different adapter class.
The card requires a PCIe 3.0 slot that can deliver eight electrical lanes; narrower slots will limit throughput. Verify the motherboard or riser provides x8 electrical connectivity before purchase.

The card uses a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface, so it needs an x8 or wider slot on the motherboard.
Power down the server, insert the card into an available PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, secure the bracket, then connect a 25 Gbps SFP28 transceiver and cable to the port.
Replace the SFP28 module if link errors appear, the port fails to establish a 25 Gbps connection, or the transceiver exceeds its rated operating temperature.
