Dual-port 50GbE adapter for PCIe 3.0 x16 slots

The Mellanox ConnectX-4 MCX416A-GCAT provides two QSFP+ ports for 50Gigabit Ethernet over optical fibre. It installs in a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and meets RoHS-6 environmental requirements. The card targets servers and workstations that need high-throughput, low-latency networking.

Verify slot and cabling before ordering

Confirm the host system has a free PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot with enough physical clearance for the bracket. Ensure compatible QSFP+ optical transceivers and fibre patch cables are available for the intended link distance. The board requires two ports, so plan for dual-fibre connectivity.

Questions about this item

Does the MCX416A-GCAT ship with QSFP+ transceivers or cables, or must they be purchased separately?

The card has two QSFP+ ports for optical fiber; transceivers and cables are not included and must be sourced separately.

The MCX416A-GCAT is a dual-port 50GbE card — when would a single-port model be preferable?

Choose a single-port version only if you need one 50GbE link and want to save a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot; otherwise the dual-port MCX416A-GCAT gives two links in the same slot.
