Fast-acting cylindrical fuse rated 8 A and 570 V AC for semiconductor circuit protection
The Mersen DCT8-2 is a fast-acting cylindrical fuse rated at 8 A for 570 V AC circuits. It suits technicians and installers protecting semiconductor devices in solar arrays or industrial power equipment. The transparent body allows quick visual inspection of the element. It fits standard 13/32 in diameter fuse holders without rejection features.
The fuse operates silently with no moving parts and draws no power during normal operation. Its single-element design limits heat rise to the rated current level. Interrupt ratings reach 100 kA at 750 V AC and 50 kA at 1000 V DC for safe fault clearing. CE, CSA and UL recognition confirm compliance with recognised safety standards.
This DCT series fuse directly replaces Bussmann PV-F and Littelfuse SPF equivalents in existing holders. The jump is worth it when a non-rejection 13/32 in cylindrical fuse with 100 kA AC interrupt capacity is specified. Installers needing an indicating version or a different diameter holder should select an alternative series.

Insert the cylindrical body into a compatible 13/32 in diameter holder until fully seated; the step often missed is verifying the holder is rated for at least 570V AC and the 100kA interrupt rating before restoring power.
As a non-indicating, single-element fuse it requires no routine maintenance; after any overcurrent event the fuse must be replaced with an identical 8A DCT series unit because it cannot be reset.
The 8A continuous current rating is the first limit; sustained current above 8A will cause the fast-acting element to open, interrupting the circuit at up to 100kA at 750V AC.
