Vehicle Compatibility

This antenna adapter connects an aftermarket radio to the factory coaxial cable and powered amplified antenna found in specific Audi, Volkswagen, Buick and Dodge models listed for production years between 1995 and 2011. It is designed for owners replacing the original head unit while retaining the vehicle's existing antenna system. The kit includes a dedicated power wire for the antenna booster.

Installation Requirements

Verify that the vehicle uses a factory coaxial cable with a powered amplified antenna before ordering, as this adapter will not function with passive or differently configured antenna systems. Confirm the specific model year falls within the listed application range for your make, as connector types changed across production periods. The adapter substitutes for the original 40-VW54 part number.

Sustained Operation

The adapter maintains a continuous electrical connection between the aftermarket radio and the factory antenna booster during extended driving periods. Its passive signal path and dedicated power feed are built to handle constant voltage and RF transmission without degradation over long journeys. No active components inside the adapter generate heat or require cooling under normal sustained use.
