Speaker Adapter for Tesla Model S and Model X

The METRA 82-8603 adapter plate allows owners of Model S 2012-2022 and Model X 2015-2021 vehicles to install 6.5 speakers. It mounts directly into the factory location so no drilling is required. The plates are sold as a pair for both front doors.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This kit suits Tesla owners upgrading door speakers while keeping the original mounting points. It is not for vehicles outside the listed model years or for buyers who need adapters for larger driver sizes. Installers seeking a single plate rather than a pair should look elsewhere.

Deciding specification — 6.5 speaker compatibility

The plate is built specifically for 6.5 speakers and will not fit smaller or larger drivers without modification. Confirm the replacement speaker matches this diameter before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Do I need to buy 6.5 speakers separately for the 82-8603 adapter plates?

Yes, these plates only provide the mounting interface; you must supply your own 6.5 speakers to complete the installation.

Will the factory Tesla speaker wiring and connectors still work with the 82-8603 plates installed?

The plates mount in the original factory locations so the existing wiring reaches the new speakers without modification.

How can I verify the 82-8603 plates are seated correctly after fitting them?

Each plate should sit flush against the door panel with all screw holes aligned and the 6.5 speaker securing bolts tightening evenly.
