Vehicle-Specific Installation Kit

The Metra 99-7802CH is a stereo installation kit designed for the Honda CR-V from 2012 onwards. It provides a factory-matched dashboard opening for fitting an aftermarket head unit. The kit includes a pocket for convenient storage below the radio. It is intended for owners upgrading the original audio system in these vehicles.

Charcoal Finish and Single DIN Provision

The kit is painted in a charcoal colour that matches the interior trim of the applicable Honda CR-V models. It accepts a single DIN head unit and integrates the original climate controls where applicable. The components are moulded to align with the vehicle's existing mounting points. No modifications to the dashboard structure are required for installation.

Honda CR-V 2012 and Up Compatibility

This installation kit fits the Honda CR-V for model years 2012 and up. It is not suitable for earlier CR-V generations or other Honda models. Buyers with different vehicles or those requiring a double DIN opening will need a different kit. Verify the exact model year and trim before purchase to ensure correct fitment.

Questions about this item

How do I install the single-DIN kit in my 2012 Honda CR-V without leaving a gap?

Remove the factory radio, secure the painted charcoal bracket to the dash opening, slide the ISO DIN head unit with pocket into the bracket, and snap the trim ring flush so no gap remains.

What part of the 99-7802CH kit might need replacement after years of dashboard vibration?

The pocket latch spring can fatigue; the painted charcoal trim clips may brittle-crack; both are serviceable without removing the head unit.

At what point does the single-DIN opening limit airflow to a double-DIN chassis during long drives?

The kit only accepts single-DIN chassis, so a double-DIN unit cannot be fitted; sustained use stays within the single-DIN thermal envelope.
