Vehicle-Specific Fit

The Metra 99-7820B dash kit is engineered for select Acura MDX models from 2007 through 2013. It provides a factory-matched opening so an aftermarket ISO DIN radio can be mounted without cutting the original dashboard.

Included Pocket and Hardware

A painted matte-black pocket, radio housing, brackets and eight Phillips screws are supplied in the box. The pocket adds convenient storage below the head unit while the hardware secures the radio to the kit; wiring harnesses and antenna adapters must be purchased separately.

ISO DIN Standard Constraints

The opening accepts only single-DIN ISO radios, so double-DIN or non-ISO units will not fit. Installers also need a panel removal tool and a Phillips screwdriver, neither of which is included, to complete the dash disassembly and reassembly.

Questions about this item

Will the included #8x3/8" Phillips screws need replacement if I remove the kit later?

The kit ships with eight #8x3/8" Phillips screws for the initial installation; keeping a spare set on hand is advisable if you plan to swap radios again.

What physical limit determines how large an aftermarket radio can fit in the ISO DIN opening?

The radio housing and brackets are built to the ISO DIN standard, so any double-DIN head unit exceeding that height will not seat properly.

Does the matte-black finish resist heat buildup when the dashboard sits in direct sun all day?

The painted matte-black surface matches the factory dash and is designed for automotive interior temperatures without warping or discolouration.
