Vehicle-specific dash kit

The METRA 99-8211 is a new single DIN mounting kit designed for the Toyota Avalon 2000-2004. It provides a recessed DIN opening and includes an oversized storage pocket beneath the radio. The kit uses Metra patented Snap In ISO Support System for installation. High grade ABS plastic construction matches the factory dashboard contours.

Installers fitting aftermarket stereos

This kit suits owners replacing the original radio in a 2000-2004 Toyota Avalon with a single DIN aftermarket receiver. Builders needing a double DIN opening or installing into a different vehicle model should look at a different kit. The included pocket adds convenient under-radio storage for small items.

Single DIN opening with storage pocket

The defining specification is the single DIN recessed opening paired with the oversized under-radio pocket. This combination dictates that only single DIN head units fit, while providing extra cabin storage. Verify your head unit matches the single DIN form factor before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Metra 99-8211 dash kit in my 2000-2004 Toyota Avalon?

Remove the factory radio, snap the kit's ISO brackets onto the new receiver using the patented Snap In system, slide the assembly into the recessed DIN opening, and secure it to the dashboard. The step often missed is fully seating the ISO clips until they click.

Will the oversized storage pocket on the 99-8211 need any maintenance or replacement over time?

The high-grade ABS plastic pocket is a permanent structural part of the kit and does not require maintenance or scheduled replacement under normal use.

What is the first fitment limit I will hit when using this kit daily in my Avalon?

The kit is contoured specifically for the 2000-2004 Avalon dashboard and accepts only single-DIN receivers; a double-DIN unit cannot be installed.
