Vehicle Fitment

This dash installation kit fits Porsche 911 (996) models from 1999 to 2005 and Porsche Boxster (986) models from 1997 to 2004. It is built for owners replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket single-DIN or double-DIN head unit.

Radio Provision Limits

The kit provides an ISO single-DIN opening with a pocket for navigation-capable units and an ISO double-DIN opening for larger radios. A lower console is required in the vehicle to use the HVAC relocation provision for double-DIN installations.

Build and Connectors

The housing, brackets, and HVAC trim panel are painted in a scratch-resistant matte black finish. Included hardware consists of six #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws. All accessories, switches, climate panels, and air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition.

It allows the factory climate controls to be moved into the included HVAC trim panel with pocket, but only if your vehicle has a lower console; without that console the relocation cannot be completed.

Does the ISO DDIN provision support any double-DIN head unit, or is it limited to a specific standard?

The opening follows the ISO DDIN radio provision, so any aftermarket double-DIN radio that conforms to that ISO dimension will fit; the kit does not add extra mounting standards beyond the ISO DDIN cut-out.
