Vehicle Camera Interface for Ford 2011-Up

The Metra Axxess AXAC-FD1 adds up to four camera inputs to select Ford vehicles from 2011 onward. It connects through the factory CAN bus to generate reverse and turn-signal triggers automatically. Models equipped with factory navigation are limited to front and rear camera inputs only. A separate supplemental harness is required for 2014-Up vehicles with a 4.2-inch display screen.

CAN Bus Triggering and USB Updates

Reverse and turn-signal triggers are produced by reading the vehicle CAN bus rather than by tapping individual wires. The interface draws power from the factory harness and operates within the vehicle’s 12 V electrical system. Firmware updates are applied through a Micro-B USB port using a separate update cable. No fan or active cooling is used in the module.

Pre-Wired Harness and Optional Extras

A pre-wired harness is included to simplify installation behind the factory display. Four programmable camera control wires let the installer set custom activation logic for each camera. The AXUSB-MCBL update cable and the AX-ADDCAM-FDSTK supplemental harness for 2014-Up models with a 4.2-inch screen are sold separately. The interface supports Ford Edge, Escape, Explorer, F-150, Super Duty, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Transit, Transit Connect and Ranger across the listed model years.
