Metra HEPA Filters for AP078/AP076 Ashtrays

This four-pack supplies genuine replacement HEPA elements built for Metra smokeless ashtrays models AP078 and AP076. Each rectangular filter uses polypropylene media to capture fine smoke particles and ash dust inside the unit's suction chamber. The filters measure 2.56 by 2.56 by 2.95 inches and install without tools. They are intended for indoor use in compatible electric ashtrays.

Upgrading from Worn or Clogged Elements

Replace the original filters when airflow drops or odours linger after use. A fresh set restores the rated 99.97 percent capture efficiency for smoke particulates. The jump is worth it when the ashtray no longer clears visible smoke quickly or when the filter surface shows heavy discolouration. Regular swaps keep the suction system working at its designed level.

Limits of HEPA Media in Smokeless Ashtrays

HEPA material traps solid particles but does not adsorb gases, so strong volatile odours may persist. Filter life shortens with heavy daily smoking or in dusty rooms. The elements are not washable and must be discarded when saturated. They fit only the listed AP078 and AP076 housings; other ashtray models will not accept this size.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions of each filter in the AP078/AP076 four-pack?

Each filter measures 2.56 inches long by 2.56 inches wide by 2.95 inches high, matching the rectangular polypropylene element specified for the unit.

How do I install the HEPA filter into my smokeless ashtray?

Open the ashtray's filter compartment, remove the used element, and insert the new filter with the airflow direction arrow pointing toward the internal fan; the step often missed is seating the gasket flush so smoke cannot bypass the media.

How often should I replace the HEPA filters in the AP078 or AP076 ashtray?

Replace each filter when airflow noticeably drops or odors return, typically after several weeks of daily use; the four-pack provides multiple changes so the 99.97% particle capture rate stays consistent.
