Natural Kitchen Sponge 12-Pack

The Metra Natural Kitchen Sponge 12-Pack provides a set of biodegradable cleaning tools made from plant-based cellulose and coconut husk fibers. Each sponge measures 4.5 L x 2.8 W x 0.8 H inches and the pack weighs 0.2 kilograms total. They are designed for dishwashing and general household surface cleaning without scratching.

Compostable Plant-Based Materials

The cellulose component biodegrades while the coconut husk is compostable, reducing landfill waste compared to plastic alternatives. Packaging is recyclable and the sponges contain no plastic fillers. The porous texture allows them to dry quickly, which helps resist foul odours during regular use.

Suits Eco-Conscious Households

Buyers seeking a plastic-free, non-scratch option for porcelain, glass, wood, plastic and stone surfaces will find these effective. Those needing heavy-duty abrasive pads for baked-on grill residue or industrial degreasing should look at something else.

Questions about this item

How often should I replace the cellulose and coconut husk scrubbers in this 12-pack?

Each sponge is biodegradable and compostable, so replace it once the cellulose breaks down or the coconut husk fibres wear smooth — typically every few weeks with daily dish use.

What surface will show wear first when I scrub porcelain, glass, plastic, stone and wood every day?

The non-scratch cellulose side softens faster than the coconut husk scrubber, so the scrubbing face remains effective longer on all listed surfaces.

Will the sponges stay damp and smell if I leave them by the sink all day?

The porous cellulose structure quick-dries between uses and the plant-based materials resist foul odours without plastic fillers.
