Dual-Compartment Cleaning Cup

The Metra Paint Brush Cleaner Cup is a foldable silicone container with two basins and 18 integrated brush holders around the rim. It is designed for artists who work with acrylic, watercolor, gouache or oil paints and need a single tool for rinsing, pigment removal and brush organisation. The collapsible form suits studio desks, classroom tables or plein air kits where space is limited.

Setup and Common Issues

The cup ships flat and pops open without tools; simply unfold the silicone walls until they lock into the 22.5 x 10.5 x 7.7 centimetre working shape. The only frequent issue is forgetting to seat the textured base pad fully, which lets brushes slide on the smooth silicone instead of scrubbing against the ridges. Rinse the cup before first use to remove any manufacturing residue.

Sustained Use Behaviour

Under repeated daily sessions the BPA-free silicone retains its flexibility and does not stiffen or crack when exposed to solvents or hot water. The dual compartments keep clean and dirty water separate for longer periods, reducing the need for mid-session changes. After painting, the unit folds to roughly one-third of its height for compact storage in a backpack or drawer.
