METRA RG12 Rubber Grommets 1/2" ID

These rubber grommets protect wires, hoses and tubing as they pass through panels in automotive, marine and electronics projects. The 100-piece pack supplies enough parts for large installations or ongoing maintenance work. They suit both indoor and outdoor environments.

Vibration damping under continuous use

The rubber construction minimises abrasion and dampens vibration when cables or lines move repeatedly against panel edges. This protection remains effective during sustained operation in engine bays or moving equipment. Easy installation keeps downtime low.

Build quality and mounting implications

Each grommet features a 12mm hole diameter, 16mm outer diameter and 1/4" overall thickness for a secure fit in standard openings. The black finish resists weathering in exposed locations. Packaged in quantities of 100 for professional installers.

Questions about this item

Do these rubber grommets get hot or noisy when they are in place all day?

They are passive rubber parts with no moving components, so they generate no heat and make no sound during continuous use.

What panel hole size do I already need for the 12 mm inner diameter to fit?

The grommets are designed for a 12 mm hole diameter in the panel you are mounting them into.

Will the 12 mm hole diameter work with the older 16 mm wiring loom I plan to keep?

The inner diameter is 12 mm, so a 16 mm loom would be too large to pass through these grommets.
