What It Is

The Mickey Technology HU-UT9005 is a Bluetooth 5.0 USB audio adapter that adds wireless sound to a PC, laptop, Mac, PS4 or Switch. It works only for audio streaming to headphones or speakers and does not support mice, keyboards or game controllers. The device acts as its own USB sound card, so no Bluetooth icon appears in the system tray. It is built for users who want simple wireless listening without driver installation.

Build And Connections

The dongle plugs directly into a USB port and pairs automatically with the target device once both are powered on. Because the connection is handled by the adapter rather than the host computer, pairing happens on the unit itself. The CSR8675 chip provides high fidelity stereo output. Indoor range reaches 50 to 70 metres, while open line-of-sight conditions allow up to 164 metres, though walls and interference will reduce the practical distance.

Practical Limits

The adapter supports aptX Low Latency for reduced delay, but non-FastStream headphones are restricted to a single voice or music channel. Standard Bluetooth headphones without aptX Low Latency will exhibit an audio delay of 70 to 200 milliseconds. Certain Sennheiser models may produce a popping noise with the low latency codec, a known chipset issue. The unit cannot add Bluetooth to TVs, wired speakers, car stereos or any Bluetooth Low Energy peripherals.
