Compatible headset models

This replacement microphone fits the HyperX Cloud Alpha S headset only. It uses a 3.5 mm jack and will not work with other HyperX models or headsets from different brands. The 17 cm cable reaches the mouth comfortably for gaming and streaming sessions.

Foam cover and bendable boom

A foam windshield is included to reduce plosives and protect the capsule. The flexible boom bends 360 degrees and holds its position so the microphone stays where you place it. No drivers or batteries are required for operation.

3.5 mm analogue limits

The 3.5 mm connector carries an analogue signal that depends on the host device's sound hardware for gain and digitisation. Frequency response is 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of -36 dB. Audio quality will vary with the jack implementation on each console, PC or phone.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.5 mm gold-plated plug or the 17 cm cable wear out first with daily use?

The 17 cm cable flexes at the bendable neck and is the likelier point of fatigue; the gold-plated 3.5 mm plug resists oxidation far longer.

What limits continuous gaming sessions — the omnidirectional capsule or the foam windscreen?

The foam windscreen traps heat and moisture against the capsule, so it becomes the comfort limit during all-day play.

How much heat or noise does the microphone add when it runs all day on a HyperX Cloud Alpha S?

The passive 3.5 mm microphone draws no power, generates no heat and adds no electronic noise; only ambient room sound is picked up.
